2016: The Beginning

2016 was the first year I chose to participate in MCAD’s Annual Art Sale, which lead me to go outside my comfort zone of digital art and smaller works to working on something physically larger than myself. With this painting, I developed a new artistic process which draws from my love of vivid colors and fascination of the sky that I continue to use in my current traditional work.

I Have Loved Too Fondly will always have a special place in my heart as my first big traditional painting, as well as the first painting I ever sold during my time at MCAD.

“I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”

- Sarah Williams, The Old Astronomer (1868)
